I have a broad experience working with an interdisciplinary team, treating chronic diseases, sleep problems, health challenges or medical diagnosis, stress impacting adversely physical health, and promoting healthy lifestyle changes. I’m a compassionate listener, I love helping and guiding others to understand adversities and to develop healthy coping skills and be able to succeed in life.

My journey becoming a psychologist

Life transitions and changes can be hard; however, you can learn to navigate through them and be able to succeed. I know how difficult it is to ask for help, that is why I try to create a trustworthy environment where you can feel safe.

I have a passion to learn about psychology, healthy lifestyles, different cultures and food. I enjoy the beach and outdoor activities surrounded by nature and wildlife. I practice self-care by going for walks, cooking, reading and spending time with loved ones.

My sessions are focused on you

I truly believe in talking and expressing yourself. I practice a compassionate and non-judgemental style where you can feel safe to be yourself, to talk about anything that you feel stuck or just need guidance.  Your life experience is unique and you have the capacity to overcome any obstacle with the appropriate guidance/help.

As a Psychologist, I embrace the following Philosophies, I believe...

My professional background:

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (Psy.D.) graduated from the Ponce School of Medicine and Health Sciences, an APA-approved program in Puerto Rico. I’m certified in Integrated Behavioral Health from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. I’m trained on the Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and phobias, like social anxiety. I have experienced working in primary care settings, community hospitals and clinics, private practice and in a correctional facility.

My main goal as a psychologist is to offer a specialized knowledge and experience in evidence-based psychology providing psychological services using a variety of treatment approaches, depending on client’s needs, strengths, and necessities. My interventions are focused more on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and relaxation techniques.

I’m experienced in psychological assessment and addressing ethnic, cultural and linguistic variables in treatment. I have also been able to experience firsthand the importance of cultural sensitivity during the assessment and treatment process with different populations.
